The best way to find out is to connect and talk. I offer a free 20-minute video call consult where you can tell me what's going on, ask me anything, and get a feel for whether we're a fit. If I'm not the right person, I'll happily point you toward someone who might be.

Somatic means "of the body." My approach as a somatic psychotherapist is grounded in the understanding that the mind and body are interconnected — meaning what happens in your nervous system shapes what happens in your thoughts, and vice versa. In practice, somatic therapy may look like exploring physical movements of and in the body, awareness of the body and its sensations, breathing practices, and nervous system regulation, in partnership with more traditional talk therapy. You won't be doing yoga poses on the floor unless we've specifically agreed that makes sense. We often talk and pay ample attention to what your body is experiencing while you talk. And sometimes our bodies can offer meaning through movements or sensations that our brains can’t (like when our brain gets stuck in the same verbal story).

I'm a queer cis woman. My practice is affirming of LGBTQIA+ folks across identities, orientations, and relationship structures. I work with a lot of queer individuals and couples, and identity-related work — coming out, transition, family-of-origin stuff, navigating queer relationships — is part of what I do regularly.

Anyone in a relationship they want to work on. That includes romantic couples, but it also includes friendships, family relationships (adult siblings, parent-adult child, chosen family), and any relationship structure that doesn't fit the traditional two-person romantic mold — polyamorous constellations, ethically non-monogamous partnerships, throuples, or whatever configuration you're in. I respect people's choices about how they structure their relationships, and I don't require you to explain or justify yours to me. If two (or more) people want to do the work together, we can talk about whether I'm the right fit.

I have training in a range of frameworks and pull from them eclectically depending on what you're bringing in. That includes clinical modalities like Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), the Gottman Method, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), alongside mind-body and contemplative practices like yoga therapy, yogic philosophy, mindfulness, and nature-based spirituality.

Under the federal No Surprises Act, you have the right to a Good Faith Estimate of what your care will cost if you're paying out-of-pocket or not using insurance. If that applies to you, I'll provide a written estimate before we start working together, outlining expected session fees and frequency. You can also request one at any time. If your final bill ends up more than $400 above the estimate, you have the right to dispute it. More info at www.cms.gov/nosurprises or by calling 1-800-985-3059.
